Head of Equity Strategies: Crispin Murray

Crispin was appointed Head of Australian Equities for BT Financial Group in January 2003 and is responsible for managing the flagship Australian equities funds and Large Cap Australian equities team.

Crispin joined BT Funds Management in 1994 as an investment analyst working on European equities, and was appointed Head of European Equities in 1998, with responsibility for portfolios totalling $4 billion.Crispin has also worked for Equitable Life Assurance Society in the UK as a bond and currency analyst.

Crispin holds an Honours degree in Economics & Human Geography from Reading University in the UK.

Head of Income Strategies: Scott Osborne

Scott Osborne is the Head of Income Strategies, and is responsible for the management of Australian cash funds. Scott has portfolio management responsibilities across these funds and is also responsible for formulation of investment strategy, portfolio construction, analysis of structured finance securities, sector allocation and stock selection and servicing client relationships.

Scott started with BT Financial Group in 1988, joining the fixed income and cash teams. Prior to these appointments, he was a dealer for both fixed interest and money market securities.

Scott holds a Master of Business in Finance from University of Technology, Sydney (UTS) and a Graduate Diploma in Applied Finance and Investment.

Head of Macro Strategies: Joe Bracken

Joe Bracken joined BT Financial Group as Head of Macro Strategies in July 2007. He brings extensive experience in equities research, quantitative strategies and a strong track record running a $6 billion portfolio strategy for a global pension fund.

Prior to joining BT Financial Group, Joe worked for four years at ABP, one of the largest pension funds in the world with over $240 billion in assets under management. There Joe was a founding member of the Global Quantitative Equities group, a team that runs approximately $24 billion using multiple pure quantitative equity models.

Prior to that Joe was a Vice President, Equity Research for J.P. Morgan Securities. Before that Joe was a Quantitative Fund Manager at Merrill Lynch Mercury Asset Management, London, UK.

Joe holds a Masters of Business Administration at London Business School (Distinction) and a Bachelor of Computer Science at Dublin City University (First Class Honours).

Head of Multi Strategies: Robert Swift

Robert Swift joined BT Financial Group in September 2007 and is responsible for BT’s Global and Australian alternative investments, and Australian and international sustainability funds.

Previously, Robert co-founded and managed a global equity long/short hedge fund management company, Oxhead Capital Management. This business was acquired by Morgan Stanley in 2006 after three years in operation.

From 1995 to 2002, Robert was a Managing Director and Partner at Putnam Investments, Boston, USA and was one of four Chief Investment Officers in Putnam’s Growth Equity group, collectively responsible for over $US200 billion. His specific responsibilities included Global and Regional Growth-oriented Equity mandates for both institutional and retail clients based in the USA, Europe and Asia.

Robert has worked in London and Sydney in portfolio management and analyst roles with firms including Hill Samuel Investment Advisors, Pring Dean/ Hambros Equities and John Govett & Co.
